This is a personal project of mine demonstrating techniques for creating character/creature facial performance blendshape libraries. I've done a lot of this type of work in my career on all types of films and games, but rarely can I show as much as I can of the process or the components as I can with a personal project so part of the motivation for me was to be able to show from start to finish the type of work that goes into these type of shots.
This project spanned everything from modeling the likeness, texturing, groom, rigging, shading, lighting, building the FACS based facial library, animation, rendering and compositing. Software used was primarily Zbrush, Maya and Substance 3d Painter. You can watch a full breakdown of the entire project below via Youtube. |
