This is a personal project of mine demonstrating shot modeling techniques. I've done a lot of this type of work in my career on all types of films and games, but rarely can I show as much as I can of the process or the components as I can with a personal project so part of the motivation for me was to be able to show from start to finish the type of work that goes into these type of shots.
Shot modeling is one of my favorite things to do. There was quite a bit of work to get to the point I could demo that element. In production normally the full gamut of work here would be broken up among team members, in this case I handled the entire shot from start to finish.
This project spanned everything from modeling the digital double, texturing, rigging, built in rig corrective, shading, lighting, animation, rendering, compositing and shot modeling. Software used was primarily Zbrush, Maya and Substance 3d Painter. You can watch a full breakdown of the entire project below via Youtube. |
