To say that Carne y Arena is a special project would be an understatement. It still has a profound affect on me and many others who have experienced it. It earned and is deserving of the first special Oscar since Toy Story in 1996.
I am grateful to have been a part of it as Model Supervisor for the show. I was responsible for leading the art team of 20+ in modeling, texturing, creating facial libraries and shot modeling. We scanned the cast and dozens of pieces of clothing trying to capture and tell the story of these real people. In the end I was proud not only of the project, but the monumental effort of the whole incredible team. At the end of the show production let me know that I had by far put the most total work hours into the creation of the project, it was worth every minute. |
